Thuli Lushaba is a strategic executive and systems-level leader whose work sits at the intersection of construction, workforce development, and community advancement. With more than 13 years of industry experience and seven years at Korsmo Construction, she serves as Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development, where she leads enterprise-wide initiatives that strengthen workforce equity, expand opportunities for underutilized businesses, and build cross-sector partnerships across Washington State.Thuli drives the firm’s strategy for diverse business inclusion and regional economic impact, with a focus on building capacity for emerging and underutilized firms to participate in alternative delivery. She developed Korsmo’s small business engagement framework and leads outreach efforts that support UBEs through education, expectation alignment, and connection to real project opportunities. Her leadership extends into regional systems work, where she collaborates with school districts, workforce intermediaries, and public agencies to create sustainable pathways into the construction economy.Her influence extends beyond her organization. Thuli serves on the Design-Build Institute of America National Student and Academia Outreach Committee and the DBIA Northwest Region Small Business Engagement & Growth Committee, where she advances access and participation for small and underrepresented firms in Progressive Design Build. She is a recognized voice on equity-centered delivery, diverse business empowerment, and community-integrated project planning.Thuli’s board service includes the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County, Habitat for Humanity Tacoma/Pierce County, and the Clover Park Technical College Foundation, where she serves as Board President. She is the founder of the Korsmo Construction Trades and Hiring Fair, acknowledged by the City of Tacoma as a 2025 Change Maker event. Her leadership has earned multiple honors, including the AFP South Sound IDEA Champion Award (2025), AGC Champion of Diversity Award, South Sound Business 40 Under 40, and the Pierce County Community Engagement Task Force Award.
