About me
Jessica Elshire-Kenny is a dedicated and dynamic educator with five years of teaching experience and a passion for preparing students with real-world life skills. She earned her Bachelor degree from Central Washington University and just received her Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction degree through Western Governors University, further strengthening her commitment to educational excellence and leadership. For the past four years, Jessica has been an integral part of the Lakes school community, where she teaches a diverse range of courses including Culinary Arts, Family Health, Educational Leadership, Nutrition and Wellness, and Early Childhood Education. Her teaching philosophy centers on creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that empower students to develop confidence, independence, and lifelong skills. Beyond the classroom, Jessica has demonstrated strong leadership by planning and coordinating impactful school-wide events that foster community connection and student engagement. Her dedication and innovation have been recognized through prestigious honors, including the FACSE New Teacher of the Year Award in 2024 and the Washington CTE New Teacher of the Year Award in 2025.
