About me
Eric is a second-year CS teacher at Hanford High School in Richland, WA, where he teaches AP Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Video Game Design, and coaches a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team. Before the classroom, he spent over twelve years as a software engineer writing JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, and C#.
He made the jump to teaching because he loved computer science, just not what corporate software development did with it. Teaching felt like a chance to share the parts he actually loved and help kids find their way into a field that, with the right guidance, can be genuinely transformative.
In a field that changes as fast as computer science, he sees his role as a bridge: translating what's happening in tech into strategies and confidence that fellow educators can use.
