This session is meant to be interactive not just an information presentation. Kimberly and her students will share some different strategies used in the veterinary assisting program to build community and set expectations that allow for more self-management by students.

Attendees will engineer their own caterpillar system and master rapid-production microgreen techniques. Leave with a mini caterpillar and student microgreen kit, ready to implement a professional-grade, student-led agricultural program that aligns with CTE and STEM learning goals.First 20 participants receive hands-on materials for workshop, unlimited number can attend. They get a personal size (small and portable, can fit on plane) garden caterpillar bed, soil and all, that they will plant seeds in to grow everything needed for a personal salad in 8 weeks. The Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and Spokane Conservation District (SCD) developed UCF frameworks and industry recognized credentials that have statewide OSPI approval for lab science or math credit. Visit the SCD campus to learn how we are building career pathway opportunities for youth across Spokane County, including two UCF summer CTE courses with WA School Principals Foundation and Spokane Public Schools. These courses address employer-identified industry skill gaps in and align with SCD's Natural Resource Apprenticeship Program (N-RAP) and credit at Spokane Community College.
